ArboRea Skalds.

His chilling blue eyes almost seem to glow. There is a long, cleanly-cut
scar which reaches from cheek to cheek, across the bridge of his nose.
You have scars on your nose.
You have blue eyes.
You have short brown hair and a clean shaven chin.
You are tall and lean for a human.
You look wonderful.

cape, a pair of black leather boots, a right warglove and a soft
midnight-blue headband.
Under that you are wearing a black leather shirt, a gemmed golden ring, a
golden ring, a leather belt with one scabbard attached to it, a leather belt
with two scabbards attached to it, a padded tunic, a pair of black leather
trousers, a pair of leather thigh-guards and a runic ring with a large clear
crimson-red jewel.
Vashniir hails from an small, poor, unnamed continent to the west of Forostar. It is so very scarce of population that
there is rarely chance to socially interact with anyone but those you grew up with. Vashniir's mother died shortly after
he was born, and his father virtually never spoke about her. As a result of this abnormality, he has a chronic lung problem
which leaves him coughing up blood and passing out. However, he never has any recollection of these fits once they are over
with.
Growing up in the harsh landscape of this continent, enduring all sorts of environmental hardships, Vashniir learned the
basics of swordplay from his hunter father, Jin. They never settled down anywhere, but rather traveled constantly,
hunting and gathering. Vashniir took quite well to this lifestyle and never once complained. Unfortunately his father
was a bit tough on him and quite critical of his swordsmanship, but Vashniir still held him in the utmost repsect.
One day, however, his world was turned upside down. The pair's travels eventually led them to the mountains and
volcanoes of the eastern side of this continent. It was during this venture that they happened upon a small cavern in
face of one of the volcanoes, and steeled themselves to go inside. There, they found a fresh batch of eggs, almost the
size of young Vashniir himself, who by this time was roughly fifteen years of age. Upon further investigation, Jin's
face went expressionless, as he explained to his son that these were actually dragon eggs. As if called to her nest by
this discovery, an enormous fire dragon slammed into the side of the cliff with her teeth bared. In what seemed an
instant, it skewered Vashniir's father through the chest with one of it's mighty claws and devoured him whole.
Frozen with fright, Vashniir was fortunately hidden inside a small, dark crevasse at the time. It was nightfall before
he regained his composure, and with some unfelt resolve, he resumed his trek to the eastern shores of this continent,
on which, to his surprise, contained a thriving village and a port!
Overcome with a strong urge, Vashniir slipped unseen into a giant throng of people, and stowed away on a ship. He
was on his way to Forostar.
Vashniir lived out a few happy years on the continent of Forostar, on which he made many friends and fell in love,
more than once. However, something inside of him caused him to periodically experience fits of depression, associated
with an extremely strong yet unexplained fear of hurting the people he cared about. Not a night went by that he didn't
have some nightmare of killing or torturing his loved ones. Though Vashniir did not believe in drinking, sometimes these
bouts would push him to his limit, forcing him to consume large amounts of alcohol. At first his friends were quite
annoyed by his behavior.
One day, Vashniir had had enough. He asked to speak privately with one of his closest friends, Ezdreli Kiann, and
informed her that he was leaving Forostar. He saw his nightmares as premonitions of what he would do to people if he
stayed near him. This decision hurt him awfully, and he was aware that it was also hurting those who cared about him.
Still, he really believed that running away would solve everything. He was wrong.
Upon landing back on his homeland, Vashniir quickly learned from gossip around the port town that he was well-
recognized, and was being looked for by someone. When he finally worked up the courage to ask someone who it was that
was looking for him, he was told that it was none other than Jin Vaughn, his father! It seemed that Asral, god of war,
looked down with great respect on Jin for his unrivaled strength and swordplay. He was sent back to the mortal realm
shortly after Vashniir set sail, and had spent his time searching across the seas for him, but as he never found his
son, he returned. Now that Vashniir was back, he could tell him everything.
The first news he told was of Vashniir's relation to Jiraan Oraph. They were actually brothers. Jin and his wife,
Jade, had Jiraan about one year before Vashniir, but sensed something malevolent deep within him, manifested in his
bloodred eyes. They agreed to send him away to a relative and let him grow up there, as they were yet unexperienced
with raising children anyway. They then tried again, and baby Vashniir was born. However, Jin was devastated as his
wife died in childbirth the second time around, and made a vow that he would channel all his strength into his newborn
son by rigorous and relentless training.
However, the discussion between father and son quickly turned sour. One cannot live with a lie forever, and Jin
decided to tell his son how he really died. The memory of the dragon was merely a fabrication of Vashniir's mind to
protect him, though it in fact did a very poor job of it. No, Vashniir's father was not killed by a dragon. Jin Vaughn
was killed by his own son.
It seemed he had been especially hard on him one day during an especially intense sparring session. Vashniir could
not land a hit on his father, and Jin grew frustrated. Without thinking, he struck a quick slash across the bridge of
his son's nose, cutting deeply and cleanly into the flesh. This was a mistake. Vashniir lost control of his eyesight,
his movements, and even his thoughts. He became a beast with eyes of blood red, burning with a passion for violence and
death. Shifting his sword from one hand to two, it only took one swing, as Vashniir fell unconscious, his father's head
rolled on the ground at his feet.
After much reflection on his father's words, Vashniir decided that running away solves nothing. At this, he took
the next ship back to Forostar to apologize to everyone and declare he would be staying, but things only grew worse. His
bouts of depression became more frequent. Fortunately, his friends were there to help him, and after deciding he would
follow Evren for "free will," he struggled to forgive himself for murdering his father, and accepted that with violence
comes death. He would come to enjoy his life substantially more, and his moods would rarely turn dark. His eyes would
never again shine red, the color of blood.
