A little over a century ago, in a kingdom across the sea, lived a Taniel lord.
Lord Karanin lived in a manor between a mountain range and the sea, was known all
around for his short temper, and for this reason it was very difficult for him to
find someone to marry, no woman ever stuck around long enough to get to know his
good side (not that he had one).
Eventually, he saw a young elf maiden walking along one of the roads who caught
his eye; she wasn’t as cheerful as any of the other else, in fact she was hardly
cheerful at all, but she was beautiful, and Lord Karanin had to have her. Tarediath
was a follower of Lilith, but Lord Karanin had no knowledge of that and he married
her.
Twenty years went by and Tarediath had 4 sons and a daughter. The 4 sons learned
the ways of the warrior and became devout followers of Taniel, the daughter left to go
be a priestess of Evren. Another 5 years passed and another son, Karak, was born. Karak
wasn’t like the others; he was always running around alleys, playing with the hunting
dogs and taking lessons from his mother. These lessons were usually about the forest, the
mountains, people skills or the deities. Until he was 12, he was the only one who knew
that she was a Lilithian, but then a rumor spread.
Within days after this rumor was proved to be true, Tarediath was executed and Karak
was left alone with his brothers and father. He was neglected, ignored and treated harshly
for his mistakes, of which there were quite a few. When he turned 16, Lord Karanin decided
that Karak was worthless, took away his name and disowned him as a son, making him a
servant to the eldest brother, Tarien. As 4 years went by, and the boy once known as Karak
turned 20, and his father started to heed him a little more attention. A year of eating
with the family, sword-fighting lessons went by and things started to get bad for the boy
again. One day during the summer, the boy and his brothers went swimming, and Tarien
‘accidentally’ pushed the boy under the waterfall and left with the three other brothers.
Left alone and barely conscious, the boy developed a fear of deep water. He staggered back
the manor to do his regular duties, when Lord Karanin decided that the boy would learn to
ride a horse, and off to the lesson they went. He watched the brother’s ride and when the
boy’s turn was up, Tarien switched the mountain pony with a warhorse. The boy fell off
immediately and broke his arm; Lord Karanin was furious, drew his sword and hit the boy
across the back with it. Things similar to this went on for about a year. Whenever the boy
did something wrong or not up to Lord Karanin’s standards, he was punished severely. In the
middle of his 22nd year, the boy decided to secretly leave to go travel the lands across
the sea.
The boy’s fear of deep water did not make it easy to maneuver a small raft across the
sea without getting sick or paranoid, and eventually, he made it to a small beach on
Forostar. He gathered some edible roots and began his uneventful journey across the large
plain that lay ahead of him. After a month of walking the plain in the hot summer sun, he
came upon a road in a forest that led to
ElvanDar.
On his first day in
ElvanDar, he accomplished three things: he got lost, he asked a beggar
for directions which made him even more lost, and he met a guard that took him in. The
guard, whose name was Kaylin Taynan Terran, had lived an almost uneventful life as a guard
in
ElvanDar. The boy decided to make his name Taynan, and took Kaylin as an uncle. The two
lived together for 15 years with no questions asked about Taynan’s past, which was
completely ok with Taynan.
As Taynan turned 38, remarkably young for an elf, he fell in love with a beautiful elf
maiden, Agilicia. 10 years with Agilicia passed quickly and he asked her to marry him, which
she did. Another two happy hears went by and Agilicia started to change; no longer was she as
cheerful when they saw each other, nor as lighthearted. Whenever Tay asked what was wrong, he
always got the cold shoulder.
On a dark and rainy night, Agilicia disappeared after getting in an argument with Tay over
how long his hair should be. Tay didn’t know what to do, so he walked to the house his now
retired uncle was living in, and when he got there, he was dismayed to find Agilicia and a
small group of people in black robes fighting his uncle. Tay, who had had no combat practices
since the swordfighting lessons at the manor, rushed to help his uncle but both were pushed
up to the roof. The fighting went on until Agilicia impaled Kaylin through the stomach and Tay
watched in terror as his uncle bled heavily and fell off the ledge. Then Agilicia turned to
him and raised her sword.
She told him to get out of her sight or face death like his uncle, and so he ran. He ran
away from there faster than he had ever run before while Agilicia and the small group around
her laugh maniacally. He ran until he fell unconscious in front of a small stone building and
when he woke up, he was on a soft and dry bed with a warm breakfast on the table next to him.
As he silently ate, an elf at least a century older than him walked up to the bed, introduced
herself and asked what had happened. When Tay lied and said he couldn’t remember, she offered
to take him in to live with her. He accepted and he lived with her for 40 years, doing
various jobs and tasks to show his appreciation for letting him live with her.
- -Like I said before, not quite done yet, but you can still add comments about how childish he is-
-And, for those who watched the world cup final- "I think I'll alias headbutt as Zidane"
- Hoihoi Taytay! you poke those nasties one for me too.
