LordRedentes - 2010-12-12
// Redentes and Luminier talk about their relationship.
You travel a very short distance east.
This is the common meeting room of "Fal Arth Rachen". The news board is
here, where Crusaders can keep each other informed. Long benches fill the
center of the room, providing a place for the Crusader meetings to occur.
There are two obvious exits: ooc, west.
A bulletin board containing fifty notes.
Luminier sitting on a bench.
You nod formally to Luminier.
Luminier nods formally.
Luminier removes a full helmet.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Have a seat if you wish
Long wooden benches provide a resting place during Crusader meetings.
You sit down on the second bench.
You ask: You wanted to talk, sir?
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Your friend Tatiana and I had a long discussion about you and my relationship with you the other day.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Do you know anything about it? Or was she just acting on her own.
You slightly shake your head in disagreement.
You utter: I had no idea.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Do you know why she fights for you in such a way?
You ask: Fights for me?
You emote: Redentes scratches his chin.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: In a matter of speaking, yes.
You utter: I had no idea she did. What did she say?
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Defends you, sticks up for you and your past.
The sounds of metal armour are heard from passing warriors.
You nod slowly.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Interesting that you have little idea.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: She said how she often spoke to you criticizing you and your past actions.
You utter: Our history goes far back..
You remove the gauntlet.
You remove the gauntlet.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Indeed.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Regardless she wanted me to talk to you to tell you somethings.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Do you recall the day when I gave myself up to the Crusaders and left the Shaolin?
You utter: I am afraid not, sir.. That was too long ago.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Ah.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: It was the day I was dragged to the dungeon and chained up.
Several squires talk about training as they head down a corridor.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: I had my limbs removed, before being dragged by horseback to the Ironhold Timber Road.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: And left for dead.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: By you.
You emote: Redentes furrows his eyebrows.
You utter: Now that you say it..
You nod slightly.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: I was told you had something similar done to you by Mathias. Is this true?
You utter: Yes...
You nod slowly.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: And what did he do exactly, do you remember? Did this change you at all?
The sounds of metal armour are heard from passing warriors.
You utter: My scrotum was cut off..
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Yes, I understand is was similar to the reason why I left the Crusaders.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Except you didn't leave.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: You had this done instead.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: And this changed you?
You utter: There were plenty of things going on back then.. I hardly remember half of it. But yes, it changed me. Blizt and Mathias treated me for a long while..
You utter: .. to this day.. I still walk without it. Some things do not go away from my memories
You utter: That was the beginning of my punishment, anyway.
You nod slightly.
Several squires talk about training as they head down a corridor.
You utter: I was burned, my limbs severed, like you
Luminier says deeply and quietly: This is where the confusion comes for me.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Would you say this punishment was justified, or not?
You sigh.
You utter: Some things we do which we rather forget. Some things must be done, despite the pain.
You utter: Many of the things I did, was not about me.. it was about the Crusade
You utter: .. few understand to appreciate it.
You tell Luminier: Mathias told me he thought the punishment on me was too hard. Blizt thought it was justified.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: It sounds as if there was a large misunderstanding as to the nature of why punishment exists and why the Crusaders exist.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Personally I don't think such actions are acceptable even to our most evil of enemies.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: However, this just ties into the corruption of Blizt.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: However, again my confusion returns. If you thought such a punishment was too severe, why do it to me?
Luminier says deeply and quietly: What makes you any better than Blizt?
You utter: Blizt is the person who changed my life, most of all...
A lengthy discussion is heard between two crusaders nearby.
You utter: ... before he fell, in his time, he was a great Crusader... but it gets to your head. It got to my head.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: You know what pains me the most about you?
You emote: Redentes looks quietly at Luminier.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Even though you were much too harsh, and even though what you did was horrible and perhaps your actions needed a guiding hand, perhaps even a voice of reason...
Luminier says deeply and quietly: What you did to me changed me too.
You raise your eyebrow at Luminier.
You ask Luminier: What do you mean?
Luminier says deeply and quietly: I know now that abandoning the vows for a woman I loved was the wrong thing to do. I devoted my life to Taniel and Evren... to walk away from that is nothing short of sacrilege.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: I was given a second chance by you, to be a serf, to serve the Crusaders.
A lengthy discussion is heard between two crusaders nearby.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: If not for you, I wouldn't have become Lord Marshall and led the Crusaders through many dark times.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: So it pains me...
Luminier says deeply and quietly: That even though I should hate you for all the terrible things you did, I have to thank you in ways as well.
Hmmmmm.
Luminier looks at you directly with his right silver eye.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: So indeed...
You utter: I'm truly sorry for the pain you have had to carry. My presence had many victims and many victorious. It was not my intention to ever go too far, but sometimes I admit, I have. There is one thing you should however know, which is, that I am loyal to the Crusade. My life, my doings - good and bad - were for the Crusade. There parts were always bigger than me or you.. this was for the gods.
A crusader polishes his weapons.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: I understand that you did things both good and bad for the Crusaders. It would be up to furious debate which side the scales did actually tip.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: To apologize is one thing. And while a part of me still wants to have it's vengeance, another part is tempered against such rash emotion.
You tell Luminier: And when I told you that I have seen what great man you have come to be, I meant that.
Luminier looks at you.
You tell Luminier: When I say something, I mean it. And I
do want you to understand that.
You tell Luminier: There have been many men in the Crusade.. many who have not the slightest idea of what it means.
You tell Luminier: I can see you now have the posture, but I also see that you carry the pain.
You utter: We all sacrificed ourselve for a greater cause in the past
A lengthy discussion is heard between two crusaders nearby.
You tell Luminier: That is the cost.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: What ever we sacrifice I hope in turn makes us learn and grow stronger.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: It seems to me whatever you did in your time away fixed your faults.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: It is clear to me now that perhaps you deserve a second chance. Few can prove that to me.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Ill do what I can to continue to have your growth flourish.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Perhaps in time my pain will grow weaker, but, with your return it only grew more in intensity, like it was waiting dormant.
A lengthy discussion is heard between two crusaders nearby.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Know that I did want to kill you, and leave you cold as you left me.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Today you've convinced me otherwise.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Perhaps one day the part of me that sees you as an enemy will disappear. And I hope it does.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: That was all I had to say, if you have anything to add, feel free.
You emote: Redentes scratches his chin.
You utter: I felt hate many times.. but hate, in the end consumes you. Trust me that this is something I know. I will too hope we can learn and grow.. not just for you and me, but for the Crusade.
You smile slightly.
Luminier nods solemnly.
A crusader quickly exits towards the courtyard.
You tell Luminier: I hope you relieve your will for vengenance.. the path lies before us now, and there are only two options. One good and one bad..
Luminier says deeply and quietly: The path ahead seems dark. With the return of these demons we must put past quarrels aside.
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Unity is the only answer.
You utter: I'm ready to become your true brother.. but this can only happen with a true absence of darkness in the between. Let's see what time gives us
Luminier says deeply and quietly: We shall see.
You nod thoughtfully.
You stand up.
You stand up from the second bench.
Luminier nods formally.
You utter: Requesting permission to leave sir
Luminier says deeply and quietly: Granted.
You nod formally to Luminier.
You travel a very short distance west.
This is the hallway of the inner keep of "Fal Arth Rachen". The walls are
made of thick white stone, and are adorned with battered weaponry. An empty
suit of armor stands on either side of the hallway. Doors open into other
rooms to the east and west, and the hallway continues to the north and
south.
There are four obvious exits: north, east, south, west.
