Appearing well portioned, if not tall for a man, this human
show no emotion in his eyes. They show no malice, no love,
no hate, no anger, no saddness, no joy. The expressions of his face
seem mechanical and his eyes do not share in these simple gestures.

• Background
  

For the years of his youth Nogem lived near ArboRea, yet was raised in seclusion. His parents, devoted followers of the Lich Lord, taught him some things about the outside world but kept him from it. He was taught to speak only Boreal. His parents drilled into his head from birth that nothing a person could do was as disrespectful to their ancestors as speaking the language common. Common was a bastard mix of the real languages and no longer contained any real words. He was taught that if he felt the need to speak with someone of another race he should learn their native language. He was told he could learn those on his own if he felt the need, but his parents would not teach those to him.

As he neared the age of his adulthood, his mother's health came to be failing. On a journey to the temple to seek undeath, his parents encountered a cleric of Taniel. In this clerics presence his parents showed fear, his sickly mother wetting herself. Both of them begging the cleric for mercy and a second chance in hopes he would not kill them. When they arrived at the temple their request for undeath was denied for their shameful display of cowardice. In their sorrow, Nogem's father told him his mother could not survive another summer. As his father instructed him, Nogem cut off the head of his mother that she not suffer, and cut out the heart of his father that it should never beat again without its lost love.

With the passing of his parents the little farm homestead held nothing for him. He journied out to seek his place in the world, and revenge for his parents shaming.

In the early years of his wandering he was rumoured to have murdered several people throughout Forostar, especially the weaker inhabitants of the lands. He was even once accused of being a serial killer in the courts of ArboRea. While nothing ever came of these accusations, the rumours of his misdeeds continue.

Ironically, Nogem was later a sworn protector of ArboRea - the last place where humans still "speak".
