New Monsters

Please give ideas of new monsters here. If you think the monster description would be too long, just make a new wikipage with the addon Monster Idea. For example, MonsterIdeaDraenei.

  • I don't know if we really need new ideas for monsters. A lack of ideas is by far the least of our problems. It's more a lack of people who would code them and who create the environment and background for them. -- Abharsair (11/09/2007)

  • Furthermore, we have the ideas thread in the forum. It seems that having them here, too, would be more splintering than helpful. -- CharA - 09 Nov 2007

Monster Idea Request

Kappa A scaled green monster with a tortoise shell and strong arms and legs, with webbing between the fingers and toes. On its face is a sharp duck-like beak, and on the top of the head is scraggly hair surrounding a water-filled depression.

The basic idea with this guy is he's a great generic monster, like a bugbear or a troll. Sort of like an underwater karate duck turtle. The water-filled depression is straight from legend, where if you are able to empty the depression of water, the kappa loses its power. Afraid of fire, so it stays underwater, but I think the troll fire weakness would work on it.

I just have to add this:

Here is a large fish, bony exterior. Should be a viable monster at 8-10ft long. Alligator Gar at Wikipedia -- KerLorin - 11.Feb.2008

  • GeNeSis: I need some water monsters, please invent some wink

How about Sirens? Beautiful half-naked females or mermaid types that lure male adventurers via song --> Charm effect vs. Discipline check.

Animal Monsters

Jellyfish

The jellyfish life cycle is quite interesting and, with a creative reinterpretation, we may be able to turn it into something fun for an aquatic environment. di5355enz.jpg

Adult:

Like a billowing cloud of half-coagulated blood floating through the current, where this massive nearly-black blob of a creature ends is a matter of some doubt. A fuzzy distortion of quivering wine-dark hairs under the waves, it is given shape only through sudden spasmodic contractions and a hideous curtain of translucent brown tentacles.

It should sting quite fiercely but be entirely non-aggressive unless it floats into you or is approached.

Magical Monsters

  • Hydras, the many-headed monsters, just check the mythology to find description (this is an example of a monster idea that was placed on this page)
