Describe Malystryx here.
A big fat tshahark that likes to eat and sleep.
You are a massive cold-faced female tshahark, presenting yourself as:
'Battledragon' Malystryx, Knight of Virtue of the Holy Crusade.
This giant tshahark could almost pass for a small dragon. Her massive body
looks more adapted to walking on four limbs instead of two. Her dark black
scales are dull, yet well groomed. She has a stern expression on her face,
and her red eyes seem to pierce into whatever she focuses on.
You have red eyes.
You are tall and fat for a tshahark.
You look gorgeous.
You are in good shape.
You are extremely alert.
You are wielding a massive solid mithril partisan with your right hand.
You are wearing a dark mithril chain tailmail, a heavy left leather boot, a
heavy right leather boot, a long black cowl, a long white tunic, a right
chain gauntlet and a sturdy mithril towershield.
You ask the masked human in Common: dead yet?
The masked human died.
You killed the masked human.
Loric looks at the corpse.
You hiss sternly in Common: better.
You tell the grim rattling neuter skeleton in Common: Bring left claw bit
closer.
The grim rattling neuter skeleton swings its left bone claw at your right
leg, but you parry its blow.
You swing your bearded axe at the grim rattling neuter skeleton's left
bone claw and wound it critically.
You cut off the grim rattling neuter skeleton's left bone claw with
your bearded axe.
The grim rattling neuter skeleton screams loudly!
You rasp dryly in Common: perfect
^Fear her wrath.
Background
Malystryx is a unique black-scaled tshahark that participated in the Insect Wars years ago,
being one of the first of the original Tshaharks. Following the destruction of the insect
hive in early 41 A.A., ending the Insect Wars, Malystryx led one of the many hunting groups
to eliminate surviving insects. In mid 45 A.A., Malystryx's group was overwhelmed by a large
group of insects near Giat. The group retreated into an underground passage under Giat that
would lead them to the dwarves, but found that the entrances to the dwarven lands were sealed
off. With the insects entering the underground passage, the tshaharks found themselves cornered.
Several died in the fight, but some managed to flee. Unfortunately, those who survived were
seperated. Malystryx managed to survive, but found herself alone. After what seemed like endless
wandering in Giat, she finally found a cave in the high mountains and fell into a deep sleep.
Some time later, she awoke, spending a long time living in the cave before finally leaving Giat.
She was both surprised and saddened to see that so few tshaharks were still in the world. One of
the first people she met was Mathias, a fellow tshahark. He told her about the Crusaders, a group
dedicated to defeating evil. Malystryx felt an affinity to this group, and so she joined, with the
hope of ridding the world of evil and making it a better and safer place for innocents. Recently,
she learned that Earthroot, a dragon that survived the purging of Giatian dragons in 70 A.A., had
found the survivors of Malystryx's ill-fated hunting group, tricking them into becoming his slaves,
and changing them into what are now known as Pale Ones. Malystryx is deeply angered by this, and
vows to kill Earthroot and save her kin from the savage life they are now forced to lead.
Some Winters Later
After a short time of being in the Crusade, the Lord Marshall, Blizt, disappeared, leaving the Crusaders
without a leader. Several Crusaders attempted to fill the position, and after some delay, Malystryx
finally volunteered herself. Shortly after, the Crusaders unanimously agreed to her being their new
Lady Marshall. Malystryx managed to keep the guild together and its morale decent, and was probably
best known for ordering the destruction of the Asral temple in Arborea to force an end to the war
between the Crusaders and Asral Clergy. Eventually, however, the grueling task of leadership exhausted
the simple-minded tshahark, and eventually she stepped down to allow the Crusaders to have a vibrant
leader that could manage the Crusaders where the weary tshahark could no longer do so, and thus Redentes
stepped up to become the Crusaders' new Lord Marshall.
Since then, Malystryx has retired from the position of leadership and authority, instead taking on missions for
the Crusade in distant parts of Forostar. However, every now and then she can be found at the castle
between her journeys, napping atop her favourite sun-basking rock in the Crusader courtyard, or whacking
a deliquent young squire upside the head with a bone that came from her last meal.
(She still intends to duke it out with Earthroot, but that task has been slightly postponed due to the little
issue of evil gods trying to destroy the world)
