l
This is the "in the middle of nowhere" somewhere in Lower Bavaria. There's a campfire burning right next to a small river, which is lined by willow trees. South of you stretches a wide valley with meadows. It's bloody dark.
There are three obvious exits: bridge, river, meadows.
Michael is resting here, Fiona is resting here, Martin (sitting next to the fire), Sandra, Jan, Oliver, Levente, Andrea and Ralf.

look south
A lot of meadows.
You can see the shape of several weird people carrying torches.

You say in Bavarian: Guys, there are some weird people carrying torches a mile or two away.

Oliver looks south.
Jan looks south.
Ralf looks south.

You say in Bavarian: Lynch mob?

Oliver says in German: Maybe we should follow them.

You say in Bavarian: Alright, grab a torch.

Jan says in German: I have a beer.

You say in Bavarian: Ralf, you got a torch?

Ralf says in German: Yes, I have one.

You say in Bavarian: Jan, you got the beer?

Jan says in German: What?

You now speak in German.

You say in German: You got the beer?

You now speak in Bavarian.

Jan says in German: Well, I have -my- beer.

You peer at Jan.

Oliver says in German: What the hell, let's go.

team Your team order:
First row:
Wolfgang (Leader) He is in good shape
Ralf He is in good shape
Oliver He is in good shape
Jan He is in good shape

You say in Bavarian: There we go.

meadow
Those are the "Laber" plains. Basically only a ton of meadows and bushes. And a river or two.
There are two obvious exits: campfire, meadows
Ralf walks in from campfire.
Ralf followed you.
Oliver walks in from campfire.
Oliver followed you.
Jan walks in from campfire.
Jan followed you.

// Quite some walking.

You say in Bavarian: I wonder what those people are doing out there.

Oliver says in German: Absolutely no idea.

You say in Bavarian: If they wear white robes and white pointy hats with masks, I'm leaving.

Jan goes back to the second row.

You peer at Jan.

You tell Jan in Bavarian: That won't help, because I extinguish my torch and run away, and you don't know the way.

You grin.

Jan grins.

Jan says in German: Asshole!

You say in Bavarian: I know.

// Some more walking.

Oliver says in German: I think we bloody lost them.

You say in German: You can't see 'em?

Jan says in German: I can't either.

You say in Bavarian: Damn. Maybe we should head back. But we cross the river and don't take the path.

Oliver says in German: What river?

You say in Bavarian: Over there. There's a river.

Jan says in German: Alright, let's go.

// Even more walking and some stumbling.

Jan says in German: Bloody dark here and my torch is going to burn down. Wolfgang, you know the way?

You say in German: Sure thing. ... Just let me look a moment. Well, there are trees.

You go hmmm.

// Some silence and worried faces.

You say in Bavarian: Did I tell you the story of the Werewolfgang.

Oliver chuckles.

Jan chuckles.

Ralf goes hmmm.

You say in Bavarian: OK, I think this way.

You point north.

// Stumbling, walking and crashing into trees.

Oliver says in German: Guys, there's a wall of stinking nettles.

You say in Bavarian: Yes, that doesn't look good. And I'm wearing shorts.

Jan says in German: Wolfgang, you -do- know the way?

You say in Bavarian: Uhm, yeah, sure thing.

Jan says in German: What?

You now speak in German.

You say in German: Yes, I do.

You now speak in Bavarian.

Jan says in German: You better.

Jan peers at you.

// Stumbling around for a while.

You say in Bavarian: Damn, I know there's a river, but there are 10 yards of stinging nettles ahead.

Jan charges into the stinging nettles.

You say in Bavarian: I am -so- not walking into those nettles.

solo on

You switch in the team-solo-mode.

west

You are in the middle of nowhere. It's bloody dark. There is grass and bushes all around you. You are alone. Your torch isn't particulary bright either.
There are three obvious exits: nettles, meadow, grass.

Something loud squeezes through the bushes.

exa bushes

You see large bushes. It's too dark to see a thing 'cept that.

Some wood cracks a couple of yards away of you.

You start to sweat.

You ask in Bavarian: Guys?

// Silence.

You shout in Bavarian: Guuuuuys?!?

exa bushes

You see large bushes. It's too dark to see a thing 'cept that.

Someone shouts in German from the west: Yes?

You shout in Bavarian: Thank god, there you are!

Someone shouts in German: Bloody hell, those nettles even sting through the shirt!

Oliver arrives from the west.

Jan arrives from the west.

Ralf arrives from the west.

Jan says in German: Damn, my torch just died.

You say in Bavarian: Here take my spare one.

You give a torch to Jan.

You say in Bavarian: I think I know the way now. Follow me.

Ralf ponders the situation.

Jan goes hmm.

Oliver peers at you.

// Some walking through high grass and occasional nettles

You say in Bavarian: Finally, the river!

Oliver says in German: But how do we cross it?

Ralf says in German: I'm wearing sneakers.

Jan says in German: We just wade through it.

Oliver tells Jan in German: Yeah, but you don't wear shoes!

Ralf says in German: I'm wearing sneakers.

You say in Bavarian: Now don't be wimps and come one!

Ralf says in German: I'm wearing sneakers.

Jan jumps into the river. SPLASH.

Jan says in German: Hey, it's not that cold.

Oliver asks in German: How deep is it? I have to roll up my trousers.

Ralf says in German: I'm wearing sneakers.

Jan says in German: Not deep. Knee-deep maybe.

Jan climbs up the northern shore.

You jump into the river. SPLASH.

You climb up the northern shore.

Your shoes start to make squishy noises.

Oliver rolls up his trousers.

Oliver jumps into the river.

Oliver climbs up the northern shore.

You tap your food impatiently.

You say in Bavarian: Ralf, you're coming?

Ralf says in German: No.

You say in Bavarian: Why not?

Ralf says in German: I'm wearing sneakers.

You roll your eyes in exasperation.

Oliver says in German: Come on, Ralf.

You say in Bavarian: Come on.

Ralf says in German: No no, I go back to the path and walk around the river.

You sigh.

You say in German: Alright then.

// Some walking through high grass.

You say in Bavarian: What the ... ? There's a fence!

exa fence

A three feet high wire netting fence.

Oliver says in German: Weird.

You shrug.

climb fence

You climb across the fence.

Oliver climbs across the fence.

Jan climbs across the fence.

// Our heroes walk 5 yards, and then...

You say in Bavarian: There's another fence!

Oliver goes hmm.

You pat yourself on your head.

You say in Bavarian: We are in an enclosure for trees.

Jan grins.

Jan says in German: Can anyone see Ralf?

You say in Bavarian: Yeah, I think I see his torch over there. Quite faint, though.

You say in Bavarian: Maybe we should light him his way from across the river here.

You climb across the fence.

Oliver climbs across the fence.

Jan climbs across the fence.

// Stumbling, tripping, falling...

You say in Bavarian: I think Ralf's torch went out.

Oliver says in German: That's OK.

Jan says in German: There's another fence.

Jan climbs across the fence.

Oliver climbs across the fence.

You ask in Bavarian: Guys?

Oliver says in German: Wassup?

You ask in Bavarian: Why don't you simply walk around the enclosure?

Jan goes hmm.

Oliver grins.

// A minute and one fence later...

You shout in Bavarian: Raaaalf, you're OK?

Someone shouts in German from across the river: My torch just went out and I'm hemeralopic (EDIT: night-blind)!

You say in Bavarian: Oh shit.

You shout in Bavarian: Can you see the path?

Someone shouts in German from across the river: Not really, but I can feel the gravel with my feet.

Jan says in German: He's fine.

Oliver says in German: Yeah. If he doesn't show up in an hour at the campfire, we can always go look for him.

Oliver grins evilly.

You shout in Bavarian: Alright then. Just follow the path and we pick you up at the bridge.

Jan says in German: Maybe.

Jan grins.

// Later at the bridge

Ralf joins your team.

You tell Ralf in Bavarian: Dude, you're so lucky you reached the path before your torch died.

Ralf grins.

// The protagonists follow the road and head back to the base camp

Oliver says in German: We should sneak up on them.

You say in Bavarian: Good idea! Extinguish the torches.

Oliver extinguishes his torch.

You extinguish your torch.

Oliver says in German: We charge up to them when we give a signal.

Oliver runs east.

You say in Bavarian: Uhm, good idea, but wait! What signal and who gives it...?

Ralf says in German: I think he's gone.

You roll your eyes in exasperation.

// Some sneaking.

SQUISH... SQUISH...SQUISH...SQUISH...

You sigh deeply.

remove shoes
You remove your pair of shoes.

sneak east

You mutter to yourself in Bavarian: ouch...ouch...ouch... darn stingy, short grass!!

// Some more painful sneaking. Finally the protagonist is only 10 yards aways from the campfire.

Levente says in German: I think I saw something to the west.

Sandra looks west.

Andrea looks west.

Fiona looks west.

Martin looks west.

Michael sips on his drink.

You emote: Wolfgang thinks .oO( Ha! I'm south of you!)

You crawl forward.

Levente looks south.

Levente says in German: And there is something black to the south!

You emote: Wolfgang thinks .oO( Damn it!)

You stand up.

You charge forward.

You say in Bavarian: BOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Oliver charges out of the darkness.

Sandra looks at you.

Sandra says in English: You guys are so weird.
