Arrival

It was a great storm that night and the ship kept jumping over the waves like a mad horse. Kaspars, again and again kept promising himself never to board a ship again. Few days have passed and now it was clear, that the ship had lost its way. The boy was sent up to the mast to make sure that the ship will not miss the sight of a land. "Land .. I see the land!" - on the morning of the third day a loud yell from above made the sailors hearts beat faster. The ship was moving fast along the coast and on the evening of the second day they spotted high towers of an unknown city. "So it will be - I am staying here. It is enough of trying to challenge death this way. Only a fool would keep sailing on this piece of wood", Kaspars thought, as he watched the impressive walls of a beautiful city approach fast.

He stepped on the ground of Forostar on the day he turned 20, it happened in the 1086th year After the Arrival according to the local calendar.

Early years

Years passed .. Kaspars was exploring, he kept fighting for money and fun trying to avoid local people. They were weird .. especially the big lizard-like creatures. He knew, they played an important role in the history here, but could not overcome his antipathy, so he chose to stay alone.

"A Banshee, yes, it is a terrible creature, its song can stop your heart, but there are creatures even more dangerous than banshees .. the masked people - they kill without remorse and they command dead bodies - I saw it with my own eyes. Undeads obey them" - the old man thoughtfully nodded sipping beer from a big goblet. Another man shrugged and laughed briefly, "Nobody had seen them for years, Crusaders are doing a good job protecting us, keeping those damned Sathonys creatures at bay." Suddenly all noises died .. "Bartus, if you want to keep drinking in my tavern, never mention their god - you know, they kill all, who speak his name aloud", the barkeeper silently hissed. Bartus banged his fist on the table - "Meek fools - that`s why they win. You all fear them and fear makes you skulk in corners". He spit on the ground and left the tavern.
Kaspars was sitting in the corner, drinking his beer. Apparently locals feared those masked people. He had never met any of them, but it was not the first time that he heard similar rumours, all telling about people praising a weird god, slaying others and animating them as their undead servants. "Powerful and mad .." he thought to himself. Yet, it was not his business, so he took another sip from his goblet and started to plan an attack on a goblin camp. Goblins were not very rich, but they had some money and Kaspars needed it badly.

It all went as planned - goblins died screaming - from heavy wounds and with split heads. In a few hours the fight was over and it was high time to count the looted money. Kaspars was resting, enjoying the money he collected, when suddenly a man entered. A short glance was enough to understand, that he was not a regular adventurer. He was more like a living corpse, with parts of his skin missing and with a deadly look in his eyes. The man looked at him, smirked silently and disappeared without saying a word. It took quite some time for Kaspars to free himself from the overwhelming feeling of numbness and realise that he was still alive and unharmed. He left as fast as possible in fear that the walking corpse would return.

The Dragonguard

"ArboRea is our home and we look for people ready to protect it against all threats", said the dwarf. "We will train you, we will give you money, so you can buy decent armours and weapons .. but only if you will swear allegiance to our city" It sounded good, besides ArboRea really was Kasparss home for the last few years and a recent insect attack together with the meeting of the walking corpse made the decision to join the Dragonguard under Nogem and Axstream easier. He learned fast and advanced through the ranks. After proving the mastery of his skills, he was even allowed to train new recruits. At this time Kaspars first met the warriors in shining silver armours. They were stern, but friendly and they were strong - maybe even stronger then any of the dragonguards. On the other hand - they never debated and their only tools to prove their truth were heavy weapons. Few times Kaspars was close to drawing his sword, but his common sense kept him from doing such foolishness.

The walking corpse appeared near the Sirens Song Inn from thin air - Axstream, TatianaRosante and Kaspars accepted the battle. Fire and Taniels wrath rushed over JezZ, his belongings started to burn and after a short while one of Kasparss longswords pierced through JezZs armours and killed him. "They do not fear death .. and why should they? -They are serving Death itself", an old guard thoughtfully remarked after Kaspars told him about the battle. Kaspars nodded silently.

HE

"Please tell me more about the god you praise"
"Dragonguard wants to know about HIM?", masked human asked coldly.

Heavy lance pierced through his armours causing a deep wound and everything started to fade ..
"You know the reason - never dare to attack them again", Blizt said and left.
"I will take revenge on you, damn crusader .."

Death .. blood .. short sleep with a weapon in hand .. hiding .. blood .. death.

Suddenly Kaspars felt somebody looking for him. He fled. After a long run, when he started to loose his breath and began to slow down, Tatiana and AlamarMeric arrived and attacked him on sight. He fought back breathing heavily but despite his efforts he was knocked out and taken to the dungeons of ElvanDar - here he learned to hate the god of Light. KasparsComesCloserToTaniel

Final turn

"Be greeted, Slave. Now move your lazy butt and do something for our Master!", yelled a man in a black robe and a long spear in his hand.

"I will teach you to understand death. I will bring your soul to HIM." Kaspars silently hissed, smiled and opened the veins of a man who was hanging on the cross. Dark powers struggled through his body and Kaspars understood that HE is pleased with the sacrifice.

Another furuncle opened and started to ooze. It was hurting slightly, but Kaspars knew it was just the price for knowledge, knowledge how to serve HIM better. He was happy to learn more as HE was Kasparss real creator and Master. White worms were crawling around him looking for the food .. and they had plenty of it - some pieces of human, elven and even troll meat were lying around, filling the air with a sickly-sweet stench.

"There is only one goal - Forostar should be completely under HIS rule. There will be only those, who obey HIM and HIS servants. Others will serve HIM as ghouls", hissed Kaspars and smashed the handle of his double-bladed spear against the ground.
