priests into the arctic, Isha'el gets a tell from Queen Gwenlanea
saying she must speak to him urgently.

You travel a short distance north.
The main hall of the palace.
You find yourself in the main hall of the palace. Ivory-covered walls tower
grandly to either side of you, and are banded with decorative arches of
green marble. Small windows near the ceiling allow light to stream in
during the day, and crystal chandeliers far overhead provide light in the
evening. Nearly life-sized portraits of regal-looking elves hang on the
walls, their artistry so realistic that they seem to be haughtily watching
the passers-by. The throne room lies to the north, and smaller halls to the
northeast and northwest lead to the towers of the palace.
There are three obvious exits: north, south, northwest.

You travel a short distance north.
The Throneroom of the Palace.
You find yourself in the Throne Room of the Palace, where the Elven queen
holds her court. The walls are made of pale ivory, interrupted by enormous
oval-shaped windows of beveled glass. The domed ceiling is beautifully
painted, and ends in a crystal skylight. Down the center of the room runs a
double row of ebony columns, and between them is a bright red carpet, which
ends at the foot of the dias. The dias itself is made of one huge,
multifaceted emerald, but it is the throne that is the most miraculous
feature of the room. It is formed from an ancient, living tree, whose roots
surround the massive emerald dias before delving down into the floor, out
of sight. Its green-leafed branches stretch far overhead. The exit of the
room is to the south.
An open southern jeweled ebony door leads south.
There is one obvious exit: south.
Canaghal~[elf], Gwenlanea~[elf], Saar~[elf], Selrion~[elf], Telorith~[elf] and
Vorphal~[elf].
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Welcome, visitor.
Gwenlanea~[elf] smiles softly.
You bow humbly to Gwenlanea~[elf].
You close the southern jeweled ebony door.
>l at queen
This slender, graceful elf is the Queen of Elvandar. Her long, golden hair
falls in an artful tumble around her pale shoulders, parting slightly to
allow her delicately pointed ears to poke through the tresses. The skin of
her face is so smooth and unlined that she seems very young, until you look
into her clear, wise sapphire eyes. Her lips are deep red and generous. Her
every motion is flawless, as if she were performing a spontaneous, yet
perfectly choreographed dance.
She has clear blue eyes.
She has very long golden hair.
She is tall and lean for an elf.
She looks attractive.
She is in good shape.
She is extremely alert.
She is wearing a delicate golden coronet, an elegant ruby-hued gown and a
plain ring.
You ask Gwenlanea~[elf] in common language: you called for me your Highness?
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Did you encounter this creature?
You nod slowly.
You say in common language: indeed
Gwenlanea~[elf] sighs deeply.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: What do you know of him?
You say in common language: we took great casualties, but the palace guards
held him off
Hmmmmm.
You say in common language: I have researched him quite extensively
You say in common language: for a long time i believed him to be Tar-Rochtlu
reincarnate
You say in common language: but I now believe he was a royal cousin
You say in common language: alive at the time of the Great War
Gwenlanea~[elf] nods solemnly.
You say in common language: and undead since
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He indeed was. What else do you
know?
You say in common language: I have been lead to believe that he fell at the
hands of a female warrior
You say in common language: I believe her to be elfkind
You say in common language: and that he traded his soul to Sathonys
You say in common language: inorder to take some sort of revenge
Gwenlanea~[elf] blinks back some tears.
You raise an eyebrow.
You say in common language: my Queen, is something wrong?
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: You are close to the truth.
Gwenlanea~[elf] sighs deeply.
Gwenlanea~[elf] gazes regally about her.
You say in common language: you speak as if...
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: For centuries I have tried to
forget...
Hmmmmm.
You listen to Gwenlanea~[elf].
You think { Gwenlanea? no, couldnt be... }
You ask Gwenlanea~[elf] in common language: you seem to know more than you
are telling my Queen
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Vlad was a child when the humans
arrived here in Forotar.
Hmmmmm.
You listen to Gwenlanea~[elf].
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Years later, when the humans sent a
group of men to Eal-Deliah to start negotiations about the land, he was
among them.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He was a young and proud man at this
time. And handsome.
Gwenlanea~[elf] looks down.
You think { ~*sigh~* }
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He was different than most humans.
Intelligent, smart, educated.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He was their best I believe.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Unlike most humans he did not
mistrust us.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He and I got close during that time.
You emote: Gojin stays quiet as if battling several different emotions.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: The humans stayed for many months
and argued about rights to settle, cut down trees and other matters.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: During this time Vlad and I spent
nearly each day together. But we had to do it in secret.
You think { what is it with her and these humans? ~*growl~* }
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Eventually my brother found out. He
confronted Vlad in front of the Council and his people.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He insulted him and called him an
animal, an uneducated barbarian and beggar.
You think { surely not far from the truth }
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Even Vlad's own people looked at him
with disgust.
You emote: Gojin keeps quiet and listens.
Gwenlanea~[elf] sighs sadly.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He instantly left the court, after
asking me to come with him. But my place was here...
Gwenlanea~[elf] wipes a tear away.
Hmmmmm.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Shortly after, the humans left our
town in anger.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Later I found out that Vlad was the
one to volunteer to raid Eal-Deliah. He wanted to take revenge at the Elves
who insulted and laughed at him.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He led a division of human warriors
through our lines and laid waste to Eal-Deliah.
Gwenlanea~[elf] gazes regally about her.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: What then happened you probably
know.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: The race wars started and did not
end for many years.
You tell Gwenlanea~[elf] in common language: I know of the wars very well
your Majesty, but what of Vlad.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Up to the point when the insects
attacked and the humans allied themselves with us, he was their fiercest and
best commander in battle.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He oftentimes changed the tide of
battle against us, using our own tactics. He never repeated the same mistake
twice.
You think { a warrior to be respected it seems... ~*hmpf~*}
You say in common language: you say until the point when the insects
attacked?
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Apparently when the humans joined us
against the insect threat, he raged and argued against it. He thought the
war could still be won and we Elves do not deserve to live.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: When Arborea decided to side with us
anyway, he left the town. What then happened I can only guess.
You say in common language: so you do not know how he became what he is now?
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He reappeared as the leader of the
humanoid forced of Sathonys, with even insects under his command.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He battled the allied races for
quite some years, as competent as he lead the humans.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: But eventually, as you know, he lost
the last battle.
You nod thoughtfully.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: When he saw his troops would lose,
he sent away his most loyal men except for some volunteers.
Gwenlanea~[elf] sniffs silently.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He then lead a cavalry charge
against my father and his bodyguards.
Gwenlanea~[elf] looks into the distance, as if recalling something.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Even though they were outnumbered,
he penetrated our lines with his war-horse and got within several yards of
my father, trying to cut him down and turn the battle.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: At that point, I...
Gwenlanea~[elf] sobs.
You emote: Gojin's ears perk up.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: I was there, for I had warrior
training and did not want to leave my father...
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: I saw his charge... I saw my father.
I had to...
Gwenlanea~[elf] cries.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: I took an arrow, aimed at him and
shot. It was a lucky hit and I pierced his side.
You emote: Gojin takes a step closer to Gwenlanea~[elf] as if to console
her but realizes the guards are watching then stops.
You think { so much pain he caused her and her people yet she still laments his loss... ~*sigh~* }
You listen to Gwenlanea~[elf].
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He stopped his charge and looked
down at the arrow. He then looked at me, blood dripping from his lips.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He recognized me and in that instant
I saw he still loved me. A second later the bodyguards of my father ran him
through several times with their weapons.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He fell from the horse. Surprisingly
enough the remaining warriors he had attacked a final time and picked up his
corpse.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: This was the last I saw of him
before today. I never found out where they hid his corpse.
Gwenlanea~[elf] sighs deeply.
You sigh slightly.
You say in common language: Your majesty, I have spoken to this being. He
has mentioned his plans
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Shortly before you arrived, he
intruded the castle and killed many guards. He was barely stopped before he
reached me. I heard him shouting through the door.
You raise an eyebrow.

You see a simple bolt on this side.
Heavy black ebony doors traced with silver patterns and studded with

You ask Gwenlanea~[elf] in common language: what had he to say?
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He said his master granted him his
greatest wish and sent him back. He said he would be here to get me, for I
betrayed him. That he wants to burn down Elvandar like he did to Eal-Deliah.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: He must be stopped, for I know he
will try to do what he says.
Gwenlanea~[elf] says in common language: Did you hear? He MUST be stopped!
You nod firmly.
