Gambling Games

OK, so people, I'm in need of your help, please invent some gambling games, that can be done with dice, cards or other ways. Please describe your ideas here (if you have a vision how they'd be easiest done & coded, let me know, as well. smile I'm not going to do anything too complex (Poker is a bit too complex in the beginning), but perhaps in the later time.

Currently, there are dice in the game, but no card decks yet, even though I'm considering to make the card deck some day. I just don't have the idea how to make it, each card being a different object or some other way. Oh well.

Feel free to spawn ideas! -- GeNeSis - 08 Nov 2007

Dice Games

High-Low A simple dice game, where one person calls high or low, and the other person rolls the two dice. If the result is 2 through 6 it is considered low. If it is 8 through 12, it is high. If the person guessed low, and it is low, they win the bet. If they guess low and it is high, they lose the bet. If a 7 is rolled, the bet is doubled, and the same person rolls again. After money changes hands, the dice are passed to the other player. The best part, this can be played now, without extra code.

Andy's drinking game! Not quite so simple as high low, but there can be variations on the way it's played. You start out with 3, 5 or 7 dice--the more dice you have, the shorter the game will be (maybe!). After you have your dice, everyone playing puts in a fixed ante at the beginning, and then a smaller ante each round. The players bet on doubles, trios, etc-by the dice numbers. (Ex: fives, sixes, ones...) and the dice are rolled. If you are incorrect about your guess, you have to take a drink (alcoholic). If nobody is correct about their guess, you can either all take a drink or have nobody take a drink. If you start to slur/puke/be drunk--you are out of the remaining rounds. The point of the game is to be the last one slurring/last person not completely drunk. Winner takes the pile. big grin --AnDy - 17 Feb '08

Card Games

Portable Black-Jack Pretty much the same thing as the one in Elvandar, except using a portable deck. Draw cards until you reach near 21, and whoever's closest takes the prize. I guess it's not as much of a new idea as it is an expansion on an old idea. --AnDy - 01 Dec '07

Coin Games

pitch and toss Nice and quick game with coins. Players toss coins at a wall, the player whose coin is nearest to the wall will wins the other's coins. Explanation at Wikipedia. Should be easy to implement and could make use of throwing skill, dexterity or similar.

Coin flipping Plain head or tails, even easier to implement.

Other Games

Darts! Aim skill, throwing? Intoxication, surely, should be considered. Little "x"s on an ASCII dart-board, with points calculated for players automatically, perhaps? The possibility of standing at specified distances from the board.

-enter race name/city name/occupation- Roulette --You have an alchemist make x amount of potions of the same colour, one of them being poisonous. Everyone picks a potion, and a geasian russian roulette ensues. OR Have x number of old poison type herbs that have lost their effect, and one fresh one. Pick one and see who loses! --Andy - 17 Feb '08
