You are a black-eyed young male darkelf, presenting yourself as: Delmon
Blood is smeared across the forehead and around the eye sockets of this lean, hardened darkelf. There is a crude tatoo of a large spider creeping up his chin, as if entering his mouth. His eyes are deep jet black, empty yet watchful. You have scars on your nose, left cheek and right cheek.
You have black eyes.
You have long black hair.
You are of normal height and of normal weight for a darkelf.
Spear: Clearly designed for killing, this mithril spear has two dulled red leather
hand grips. The deadly tip of the spear is blackened, and on the shaft a
gold-inlayed inscription reads "Wolf"
Delmon was born to a family of average Elvandar elves, full of hopeful prospects for Delmon to be a flute maker, like his father. However this they quickly realized would not happen. When Delmon was five, he tried to stab his mother with a kitchen knife for not giving him a candied apple. When he was nine, he beat up his cousin to his to the point of death over an argument with a game. These situations kept arising, and when he was 15 years old, his parents threw him out of their home for his strange behavior, legally disowning him. Since he technically never broke a law while with his parents, Delmon was never confined to prison. And so Delmon roamed Elvandar as a little rogue and in essence, he grew up as a poor, low class elf. When he was 25 years old (very young for an elf), he decided to leave his situation and roam the world.
His years of adventuring have been melded together into a strange pot of experiences and instances. Because of his early life, he was determined to become a skilled fighter. Early in his career, Delmon trained with young characters such as Andreati (Andy), Dakrin, and Deimus, growing as a fighter. He would fight with daggers and spears and learned much from his early companions. He grew a reputation for being a little strange and impulsive, such as sneaking around Arborea and murdering all the animals, but no one took too much offense at most of what he did. In fact, most people enjoyed his easily grinning company and quick to spar mentality.
Delmon's curiousity and impulsiveness would often land him in trouble. At his first encounter with a Sathonys Cleric, Delmon agreed to hunt beside the infamous Dreadmaster Jezz. Crusaders caught and almost burned Delmon at the stake for this, but was spared for his charm and feigned ignorance (mostly feigned ignorance). Ironically. Delmon was caught off guard soon after, being stabbed in the back and murdered by Jezz for talking back to his accomplice darkelf named Aragog. He also encountered Kaspars, another priest of Sathonys, who sent a searing mind call that told him "you will be hunted like snake." Delmon decided he would bite like one too, and delved into the arts of camoflauge and surprise. He noticed that he immensely enjoyed the world where he could watch where none could see.
Delmon quickly found friends in the influencial elves Fench and Ralph, both Alsral elves. Delmon attached himself to them instantly, developed his light fighting technique, and followed their religious beliefs. He would often discuss with Ralph on politics and the guilds, and views on this person or that. Besides this, Ralph and Fench taught him how to train effectively and efficiently, and Delmon became a much deadlier guerrilla fighter.
Years later Fench and Ralph rejoined the Rangers under Arthur's leadership. Delmon was quickly invited in after awhile, and so Delmon became a Ranger. Although Delmon grew in his skills, Delmon never learned archery, preferring the feeling of his knife sliding into the back of an unsuspecting victim. He in fact loved to hunt and enjoyed spearing down his victims, cracking their necks, and so forth.
With loose instructions as a Ranger, Delmon focused primarily on living the ranger life of hunting, outdoors camping, and patrolling for Sathonys Clerics which he was ordered and happily agreed to assualt. Delmon fought the Sathonys Clerics many times throughout his career, and often attacked the famous trio of death alone (Aragog, Jezz, and Kaspars).
During his Ranger years, Delmon managed to offend the leader of the Order, Cemoch, and there was a short war with the Order because it. It was a short war that ended in deaths for all the rangers, including Delmon and his friends Ralph and Fench. In any case, Delmon continued to advance his skills and the ranger guild increased as well, gaining Ceinna and Dax. In fact, his abilities landed him the honor of receiving a special mithril dagger as a gift from the ancient and tough Ranger named Brand.
Delmon, had, like Ralph and Fench, learned to backstab and had trained using it. Before, the Crusaders had not cared for this reason or that. They began to care, and relationships only worsened when Delmon chose a path that he thought would help further his training, and a path that certainly accepted him for what he was; that is, an impulsive, aggressive, and avid killer.
For this reason, he delved into the lore of Lilith, the Queen of Darkness herself. Something seemed to draw him to this path. He traveled and snuck around the cathedral in Ironhold, listening the to orcs and goblins chant vile prayers to their goddess. He saw the powerful creatures of Lilith, and grew obsessed by the mystery of this goddess. He began to pray to her, calling for her to aid him in his tactics and ways which he knew brought pleasure to her. And so, the Goddess responded, and with powerful whispers guided Delmon into the smoke filled hut of a half-orc shaman. The whispers made him notice the shaman's amulet, and with beserker energy he butchered the shaman and all of his guards, taking the amulet for himself. In the moment Delmon put on the amulet, Lilith acted, sensing her victory over Delmon. As he closed his eyes, praying to Lilith to keep his dagger straight and true as he took his victims, she appeared behind him, and stabbed her own vile dagger into his back. As Delmon slumped to the ground, she pulled out her dagger, claiming with her a part of his soul for herself. When Delmon eventually awoke, he screamed in agony and pain. What had happened to him??
Soon, the whispers began even stronger and more forcefully, promising that in return for choas, his pain would never come back. If he failed, he would be shut down, and the pain would come back. With his mind swirling, Delmon killed a unicorn and some fauns in service to Lilith. For certain, the Crusaders and Evrenites learned of his actions and the curse of Lilith on him. He was tortured and punished by the rangers but not understanding the curse, he was not condemned to leave the Rangers.
The Crusaders decided, due to other members actions as well as Delmon's, to "punish" all the Rangers instead for their beliefs on guerrilla warefare. They tried to kill all the rangers and began a war. With tactics in place, the rangers faced the strong forces of the Crusaders, including Mathias, Adanath, and an upcoming Crusader named Luminier. For awhile the rangers held their own, but the Crusaders were too strong to stop. After Delmon and the other Rangers were killed many times by the crusaders such as Mathias, Adanath, and Luminier, the semi-war stopped. This conflict ruined the Rangers as Delmon had known. As far as Delmon knew, Brand stepped down and fell back asleep. Arthur, Ralph, and Fench did the same.
After this conflict, Dax, Ceinna, and Delmon wondered how the guild would continue. Dax wanted to heavily punish Delmon for his actions as a Lilithian, but Delmon refused to accept any punishments (most of his reasoning was constructed under the guidance of Lilith, but this was unknown to Dax or Delmon). Delmon left and Dax was left with the sad, lonely Rangers.
It seemed from then on Lilith was no issue to Delmon. He was convinced he could perhaps become a respectable elf in the eyes of others and began to reject his former self. After a small amount of time Rex, a crusader, offered an extended hand of friendship and even suggested the crusaders as a redeeming path. Delmon accepted and began to perform deeds of honor according to the Crusade and regain his strength. One day, he was resting in a tree and Luminier suddenly climbed up. Luminier had studied Delmon's actions and knew he was not to be trusted because he knew Delmon was cursed by Lilith. And so Luminier planned to purge him, attempting to rid him of Lilith once and for all. It was Delmon's choice, either submit to Luminier for a burning, or fight to the death. Delmon, confused and shocked, ran as fast as he could.
In the meantime, Dax was trying everything possible to kill Delmon for leaving the rangers and not accepting punishment. He would hunt Delmon daily, and the two brutally fought eachother on many occassions. Dax, with his connections, convinced the Kelric to have his guards attack Delmon on sight, barring Delmon from Arborea territory and cleverly had Delmon outlawed from Elvandar territory. In the meantime, Delmon was certainly enemies with the Sathonys Clerics for his many viscious encounters with them. So, at this point Delmon was not welcome anywhere, neither evil nor good, and seemingly hunted by many. And for some reason in his own mind he felt betrayed.
Delmon retreated into the mountains were he groaned miserably for some days. Feeling cursed, he began to tear apart the skaven, and for food ventured into eating parts the ratmen. Bent with hatred, he grew insane inside the caves.
After a month of solitude, Delmon left his caves and ran into a symbol of his hatred, the Archbishop Tehanu. He ambushed her with as much hatred and as much strength as possible in the woods of Elvandar. She barely escaped when an Elvandar patrol, hearing her screams, rushed to save her. From there, he went on to fight to the death with many, including Adanath, Mathias, and Korsario, along with countless innocent civilians. He would sneak around the amward plains, searching for victims, and out of the dark he would leap. He even buried his dagger into his friend, Ceinna, killing her instantly.
Eventually he was captured by a mob of rightfully angry warriors and civilians who had been victims of the cannibal Delmon. They bound and beat him, and dragged him around with a rope. He was pulled all the way to the gallows between the Crossing and Arborea. He was given the choice by Dax, the leader of the mob. Either starve to death, or pull the lever and commit suicide. With his mind swirling, he pulled the lever.
Taniel granted Delmon a new body, and Delmon submitted to the punishments devised by Tehanu and Dax. He gave money, food, and clothing to the poor. He cleaned unicorn manure for months all throughout the hidden valley, and dug repentance holes for weeks on end in the hot sun of the amward plains. After this, Delmon recovered his strength while destroying undead ghouls and skeletons under the watchful eyes of the Clerics and Dax. He eventually fought alongside Dax, and almost killed the elusive and deadly Chani. Delmon, with his renewed energy granted by Taniel, began to ferevently follow this new light. He gave up all former practices and sought the will of Taniel.
Even so, during this time Delmon met another Ranger-to-be named Luxon, who had heard stories of Delmon. Feely confident inside the walls of Arborea, Luxon taunted an unsuspecting Delmon about his past. The two clashed a couple more times, and bitterness developed far too quickly in the mind of Delmon. So when Luxon was on a hunt, Delmon snuck behind the elf and cut him down. Luxon had no chance to defend himself. Delmon cackled and enjoyed the blood of his fallen enemy. Surprisingly, the consequences were not severe.
Significant people come and go, and this became the case for the old crusaders, Tehanu, and Dax. Even so, a new leader in the Taniel Clergy emerged, and her name was Caelia. Delmon noticed this change, and set his mind to completing his long journey of repentance by joining the clergy. Through Caelia, Delmon was admitted into the clergy of Taniel.
Even with his somewhat fervent following of Taniel, the Lilith never truly left him, and it even came back to haunt his voice, leaving it crushed and raspy for a time.
Delmon improved his abilities and for years as he fought as a self-righteous Taniel Cleric. He engaged in many battles with Sathonys Clerics such as Ganon until finally he noticed that the sathonys clerics were rarely entering Elvandar lands, the tower of pain was always closed, all seemed right in Forostar. From there he focused on preaching and control of the population.
However, in the back of his mind he knew all was not right with himself. His disease was always there, like a thorn that could never come out. Every once and a while people would notice an eruption of the previous Delmon, and occassionally the thought of just stabbing anyone in his sight would try and take over. He would not let it and even he gave his dagger over to another cleric named Szeven.
Eventually he realized he would have to try and heal himself once and for all, and remove the curse in his body. And so Delmon decided to attempt to find Taniel himself, the god of order and light. To do this, he entered the heavens, a cleric on a journey of discovery and healing. While wandering through the glorious realm of light and wonder, he began to hear the familiar whisper.
