// An adventure to get a horse unbranded.

You say softly in Common: it's being stubborn?
Shalun tells you in Common: Not so much, just a failure to communicate.
It has been a while since I watched someone ride.
Shalun looks south.
As you look south you see:
ArboRea forest.
The area seems to be empty.
Shalun tells the large grey male horse in Common: That way.
The large grey male horse trots east.
Shalun rides east.
You laugh.

--

In midst of a few bushes you find a calm place which looks the perfect
place to take a rest. Thick bushes to the north and east protect the area
from wind and other negative influences of the climate. Soft fresh grass
and a few flowers around a small spring invite you to sit down. To the
west, you can return to the more uncomfortable regions of the foothills.
A tombstone rests beside the spring.
A small hut has recently been erected here, whilst obviously newly
constructed, it appears as much rustic as new.
There are two obvious exits: hut, west.
Shalun, a large grey male horse and a long-legged brown-spotted female
horse.
Shalun starts to lead the large grey male horse.
You say softly in Common: oh, I've never tried coming to the shrine from
this way.
You say softly in Common: and I don't have a bridle.
This long-legged brown-spotted mare is obviously a thoroughbred, and seems to
be high-strung by nature.
The symbol of a 'black hand' has been branded into its fur.
It looks hideous.
It is in good shape.
It is extremely alert.
Shalun calmly says in Common: The door looks a bit small for him to
squeeze through.
You nod.
You say softly in Common: plan B then?
Shalun tells the large grey male horse in Common: I should of known never to
rely on Gwen.
Shalun nods amusedly.
You bop Shalun on his head.
You say softly in Common: that's unfair to blame her for the hut.
Shalun calmly says in Common: Hey, you're just jealous my horse won't
throw me.
Shalun calmly says in Common: And it is Her hut...
You say softly in Common: that's like blaming evren that you can't get a
horse to touch a runic stone or get on a boat to cross the lake.
Shalun closes his eyes for a moment.

You say softly in Common: see, I win.
You nod firmly.
You say softly in Common: so now what?
A long, bloodred, silken gown.
It is in prime condition.
Shalun tells you in Common: Gwen has this hut built. Evren just let
things flow naturally.
Shalun nods wisely.
You say softly in Common: teleportation stones aren't natural.
Shalun shouts in Common: Come out here and help the horse if you want
to make Gwen look good.
Shalun goes hmmmm.
You say softly in Common: I don't think Denma can remove these kind of
brandings anyway.
Shalun calmly says in Common: Maybe she didn't learn very well.
You say softly in Common: let's see you do it then, smart alec.
You peer intently at Shalun. Hmm......
You think the mandrake on Shalun moved its eyes. It seems to watch you.
You say softly in Common: anyway, enough bickering. what will we do with the
horses now?
This long-legged brown-spotted mare is obviously a thoroughbred, and seems to
be high-strung by nature.
The symbol of a 'black hand' has been branded into its fur.
It looks hideous.
It is in good shape.
It is extremely alert.
This large grey stallion is obviously a war horse, and seems to be nasty by
nature.
The symbol of a 'black ear' has been branded into its fur.
It is bridled with an ornamented set of reins.
It looks nice.
It is in good shape.
It is extremely alert.
Only small clouds share the sky with the winter sun. A slight wind
blows from the north.
Shalun sighs.
Shalun detaches a black bag from the bark moss-covered belt.

Shalun gets a cubical silver-spotted green gem, a heartshaped silvergreen
gem and a spherical green silver-spotted gem from his stonebag.
You ponder the situation.
Shalun takes three dark green stones into his hand and arranges them to a
strange symbol. They start to glow in a bright green light.

Shalun seems to concentrate on something. Mist starts to twirl inside a
glowing triangle build by the green gems in his hands. The mist twirls fast
and suddenly leaps out of the triangle into the ground, where it slowly
disappears.

Shalun goes hmmmm.
The stones stop glowing.
Shalun puts a cubical silver-spotted green gem, a heartshaped silvergreen
gem and a spherical green silver-spotted gem into his stonebag.
Shalun attaches a black bag to his bark moss-covered belt.

You say softly in Common: interesting.
You say softly in Common: that's how they're used.
You ponder the situation.
Shalun tells you in Common: You do not have any druidic energy to make
use of them.
You say softly in Common: I think some old lurkers had a collection of them
somehow.
You say softly in Common: oh, I wouldn't use them.
You say softly in Common: but the lurker wanted to pawn them off, and I told
him not to, because I figured they weren't normal stones.
You say softly in Common: no idea where they are now though.
Shalun calmly says in Common: I doubt any store would pay for such an
oddity.
Shalun sits down to rest a while.
Shalun raises his hands to the sky.
You say softly in Common: you never know.
Shalun goes hmmmm.
You sit down to rest a while.
Shalun puts his hand into a small bag.

The water of the small spring looks very clear and refreshing. Having a
mouthful of this couldn't do you no harm.
Shalun takes his hand out of the bag, makes a small hole into the ground and
burries something there.

A long, bloodred, silken gown.
It is in prime condition.
You emote: Tessa tries to wash her gown a bit.
Slowly a small tree grows out of the ground.

Shalun goes hmmmm.
Shalun tells the long-legged brown-spotted female horse in Common: Just
point your rump towards the tree and it will help guide you.
Shalun smiles appreciatively at the long-legged brown-spotted female
horse.
You say softly in Common: what's that supposed to mean?
Shalun raises his hands to the sky.

The water of the small spring looks very clear and refreshing. Having a
mouthful of this couldn't do you no harm.
Shalun raises his hands to the sky.
You wash yourself in the spring.
Shalun points at the long-legged brown-spotted female horse.
You wash yourself in the spring.
Suddenly two tree branches swing from either side of the long-legged
brown-spotted female horse speeding towards its torso.
The long-legged brown-spotted female horse nimbly avoids being hit by the
tree branches.
You laugh.
You say softly in Common: good horse.
Shalun tells the long-legged brown-spotted female horse in Common: You are
most right, it would work better as a push.
Shalun kneels down in front of the long-legged brown-spotted creature and
whispers soft strange words.

The long-legged brown-spotted female horse sits down to rest a while.
Shalun pats the long-legged brown-spotted female horse on the head.
Only small clouds share the sky with the winter sun. A slight wind
blows from the north.
Shalun raises his hands to the sky.
Shalun points at the long-legged brown-spotted female horse.
Suddenly two tree branches swing from either side of the long-legged
brown-spotted female horse speeding towards its torso.
The long-legged brown-spotted female horse is struck by the branches and is
thrown out hut.

There are two obvious exits: hut, west.
A small beautiful pear tree.
Shalun is resting here and a large grey male horse.
You say softly in Common: wow.
Shalun smiles evilly.
You say softly in Common: it worked.
