Just add alias you think of and let the list grow! I will try to look in other codebases what they use for similiar things.

(Jotun): Please note that this page was not made for putting typos on!! Im not sure it is wise to add typos here or at another wiki page. We have a system for reporting typos, and until we decided for a new system I don't really think any wizards will look at this page, especially since it also gives less information to the wizard.

( For typos look here --> Typos ) //

"eq", "equipment" = "i","inventory" (GeNeSis): I think eq/equipment could show only the things you wear. "stand" = "stand up" "rise" = "stand up" (for others than meditate as well) "attack" = "kill" "stun" = "stunmode"+"attack" "sit" = "rest" "info" = "help" "time" = "guess time"/systime (?) "wizlist" = "who", showing wizards "consider", "evaluate", "compare" = "appraise" "title" = "introduce title as" / "introduce" "commands" = list of all commands "social","socials" = "help emotions" "quaff" = "drink" (for potions/waterskins?) "group" = "invite" "hold" = wield for staves/wands/torches (?) "practice", "train" = use at schools? "set ansi","ansi" = "setcolor" "look " = "look at " , "get all " = "get all from " and so on "exit","exits" = show possible exits "alignment" = show reputation/stats (?) "look at " = "look at me"

trolly: "la" for "look at" (addition at 18.08.2003: found in idea report smile at Sat Apr 12 09:25:42 2003 from nicatio ' Nickname the 'look at' to 'la' by default (like a command alias already setup) -- GeNeSis, the at by looking is still standardized, but a global la is making it easier
for players from other muds AND gives u an additional alias spot to use wink and of course jottel'bear alias suggestions

(GeNeSis): I am highly against 'la'-suggestion AND removing at from looking. If we are that lazy... Why are you playing then? Besides, we have thoroughly functional system with looking at the moment, it works as you would think it to work. Second point: 'look at something' can be achieved with 'l at something'. The difference between 'la' and 'l at' is minimal.

As for those suggestions about making it easier to see alignment/reputation, I restate my statement about laziness. Typing 'stats' is quick enough to see anything needed. Even though it could be simplified a bit, I agree. We don't have to have huge loads of commands only to satisfy a minimal need when there already exists a command that can do the same and more. And alignment/stats is not really something you would want to check every four seconds (like 'hp', which I agree is useful alias). (Trolly) i dunno where you got the point of removing AT at all, I want la in ADDITION to l at, if you dont want to use it, that's fine since you are not forced to use it this way, but there are people who want to use them (and not only me, i read it via idea log), dont ignore em since u can continue to play how you are used to it without any change for YOU smile

'commands': Useless, we have the command help. (trolly: i disagree, its an ADDON, you want to attract more players? then look at other muds, how they use their interface, ALLOW those other commands and if you really want to then link to the more-commonly used command, with a note stating: "normal usage is this or that") 'socials': Laziness. 'ooctime' = Show UTC/GMT time, would be really nice. 'practise, train': Could be useful. 'quaff': Perhaps for drinking smaller amounts?

Anyways, after being critical... Well, HF everyone. smile

Yegerfin: next: those who play xyllo know about this command... quite helpful in reading many notes on board instead of read 44, read 45, read 46, ... you can just read 44, next, next, ... oh, yes, and seing poster and time of post when you read a note would also be nice... (trollo-can only agree on that)
